My office was trashing some old chairs, and I saw some potential in the wood frame of this red one, so I snagged them both! They were in great shape, just old and terribly ugly. I took them home, took them apart, and cleaned up the wood with my favorite wood for good cleaner. I've been seeing a lot of buzz on pinterest about using drop cloths to upholster everything from ottomans to headboards, so I decided to give it a go. I love the natural color and soft nubbiness of the fabric, and the fact that it was super easy to work with. All I had to do was wash it and iron it and do a little bit of hemming and hand-sewing here and there (using mostly the pre-hemmed sides), and then I just stretched it out and staple-gunned it on and voila! New chairs for the living room.
