The furniture for the sunporch is a hodge podge of dumpster dive treasures and hand-me-downs, with just one item purchased by us (my steal of a deal $42 potting bench from World Market). How to make it look good all thrown together? Paint, of course! Everything got painted white except the potting bench and the coffee table (a dumpster dive from our first apartment in Birmingham... awwww....). The bench will stay as is for now (it's brand NEW, y'all!), and the coffee table is now this gorgeous blue (actually Sherwin Williams 'aquatint'), courtesy of a sample size I had mixed when looking for the perfect color for our kitchen base cabinets. I can't wait to see everything living happily together :)

Day 329: Good News, Bad News
The good news is we'll have plenty of firewood next winter. The bad news is, we had to chop it ourselves in order to walk through our backyard! After the recent storms, we had 5-6 huge limbs down in our yard (luckily no roof or structural damage to the house!), some we suspected would come down after the last round of heavy winds and rain, and a few surprises. A couple injured trees, including our dogwood, and some damage to our brick walkway and steps, but nothing too bad. We spent a few hours tonight out back with the chainsaw, hauling lots of small logs for the fireplace over to the woodpile.

Day 323: Free Loaders
Shannon, observant (read: nosy;) neighbor that he is, noticed earlier this year that someone had a house and lot a for sale a few blocks away. The house was brick and had a granite foundation. The house has sense been torn down and now is marketed as a buildable lot. Not wanting all that great rock to go to waste, he quickly contacted the owners and reached out to them via e-mail to ask if it would be alright if he recycled some of the rock at our house. They kindly agreed, and now we have a pile of pavers and other granite stones very similar to the rocks our house is made of for use in our landscaping, or other projects. Good work, Shannon!

Day 320: Let the sun shine in!
Shannon spent the entire day giving a much-needed cleaning to our jalousie windows, and wowie what a difference! The sunroom looks better already. It's amazing how great they look - like brand new! Now we just need to install the base supports around the south and west sides of the room, get some paint on the walls and we'll be nearly done with our sunroom makeover. It's not stopping us from enjoying our time out there as-is for now. What an inviting room!
