Project List

Here's a working list of all the projects we've undertaken since day one, and how things are looking now. 

Front Exterior

To date:

• Removed ivy growing on exterior
• Removed old porch awning and railings
• New paint on the windows and door
• In 2014, we began work on a complete exterior facelift (aka we added a second story occupying the footprint of the attic with a large shed dormer on the rear of the house, a new gable over the front door and front right window, new sunroom exterior and a larger center gable). 

Living Room

To date:

• Refinished hardwoods
• Serviced chimney / fireplace 
•  New paint
• New ceiling, with overhead lights (6 canned)
• Touched up plaster and paint on walls

Dining Room

To date:

• Refinished hardwoods
• Repaired door to sunporch
• Removed swinging door to kitchen
• New paint 

 Kitchen

To date:

• Removed old flooring (original linoleum), installed new to match existing in rest of the house
• Removed everything below existing upper cabinets, down to the studs (due to mold issues)
•  Updated electrical throughout 
• Removed cabinet doors from uppers along wall with sink
• Installed new sink and appliances
• Built custom lower cabinets (all Shannon) to match existing
• New paint on walls, ceiling, cabinets
• Seating for a breakfast nook 

In the works:

• Install backsplash 

First Floor Bathroom

To date:

• Removed old sink and toilet
• Resurfaced tub 
• Installed new vanity with sink
• Installed new showerhead
• Regrouted shower tile
• Installed new wainscoting and trim throughout
• Built custom mirror from old window
• Installed lighting
• Installed fan

 Downstairs Bedroom

• Purely cosmetic - refinished floor, patched and painted walls, installed new lighting 

Downstairs Office 

• Purely cosmetic - refinished floor, patched and painted walls, installed new lighting 

 





Deck

To date: 

• Stripped old green paint
• Removed old screen and wall frames
• Removed dangerous stairs
• Built new railings and stairs
• Stained platform with grey wood stain

Sunroom

• Built 3 walls and installed new windows
• Stripped and stained cocnrete floor

Basement

To date: 

• Re-plumbed entire house
• Installed new vents for A/C
• Dug out dirt floors and walls beyond existing concrete pad
• Installed french drains and vapor barrier
• Poured new floor and walls 
  

In the works: 

• Install a utility bathroom (read: for boys only) 
• Organize storage

Attic

To date: 

• Demo-ed entire upstairs to prepare for renovation
• Ripped up old flooring, removed interior walls and laid out rough-in for new bathroom
• Added a rear dormer and front gables / dormers in winter/spring 2014 
• Buildout includes our new master suite, including bedroom with sitting area, bathroom, and closet, as well as a common area we're calling the library. Because we're fancy.
